Think Ahead

Linetec takes great pride in the work we do, our company culture, and the people on our team who make it all possible. And we are telling our story.

With the extensive destruction throughout the Southeast caused by Hurricane Helene, we are grateful for all the hardworking men and women from Linetec working around the clock on behalf of our utility customers. More than 800 line crew members from our team have traveled from across the country and are actively working to keep communities safe and restore power throughout six states. A big THANK YOU to our crews – we look forward to your safe return home. See MoreSee Less

Even while on Hurricane Francine storm response, Linetec employees go above and beyond to serve the communities where they live and work. Jackson Lemoine (Lineman) and Jake Thompson (Journeyman Lineman) showed incredible poise and quick thinking in their heroic efforts to aid a local resident who urgently needed their help. After cutting a major artery in a household incident, a man stopped Linetec’s crew in Covington, Louisiana, asking for assistance. In a life-threating moment, Jackson used his training to create a tourniquet from his personal belt while Jake drove the injured man to the hospital. Thanks to their actions and dedication, the man’s life was saved. The next day the man returned to personally thank the crew and share his heartfelt appreciation. These everyday heroes remind us that safety, compassion, and quick thinking truly make all the difference. See MoreSee Less

For many, being a lineman is more than just a career—it's a family legacy. Such is the case for Jeff Morris, a third-generation lineman who has proudly followed in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather. Now, his youngest son is continuing this proud tradition. Jeff’s career began over 40 years ago in Denton, Texas. Over the decades, he has gained experience across a wide spectrum of the utility industry, working with investor-owned utilities, municipal electric companies, and cooperatives. From constructing overhead and underground distribution lines to troubleshooting outages, coordinating hurricane and ice storm responses, and managing communication and workflow, Jeff’s expertise spans the full breadth of lineman work. This wealth of knowledge naturally led him into a training role. In 2011, he joined the Northwest Lineman College, and by 2015, he had been promoted to president of the Denton campus. Today, Jeff serves as the Director of Training for Linetec's apprenticeship program, where he oversees all aspects of the training division while mentoring and inspiring the next generation of linemen. In 2009, Jeff was honored with an induction into the Lineman's Hall of Fame, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the industry. He has also competed successfully in the International Lineman’s Rodeo, an event he thoroughly enjoyed. Jeff considers himself fortunate for a career that has allowed him to grow, learn, and travel, all while doing what he loves. We invite you to join us at the 40th Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo, where Centuri is a sponsor, and see first-hand the incredible talent and dedication of linemen like Jeff. bit.ly/3mFRPJa Interested in working alongside people like Jeff?
